All were found in Franklin county, VA in 1860 and 1870. I want to look at the 1840 and 1850 census and see who it has.

I found Swinney listed as the father for with Sarah being the mother in the childrens marriage records. But in another marriage record I found Surra Cunningham and Sarah Robertson as being the parents. My mom told me that the name was changed after slavery but she could not tell me what the name was previously. I know nothing about these names at all. Thank goodness though with the name Swinney I knew that I had found my g grandfathers siblings.

It appears that most of the children after slavery kept the surname of the slave owner Robertson while my g grandfather took the name Robinson.

I do not know anyone from this line other than the direct descendents of my g grandfather and no one in the family knows any of the family history that I have been able to find. I let the family know that my ggrandfather had siblings.
