Re: Found Slaveowners
In Response To: Re: Found Slaveowners ()

No, it was not part of a slave narrative record. The library has a volume of books of Union Soldiers/Navy personnel who served in the civil war. One volume includes the name of members of the United States Colored Troops. I found two relatives and requested the information on a NATF form 85 that was at the library. Also there is microfilm of some Union pensioners at the TX State Lib. and included individuals in LA. USGENWEB.COM/Madison Parish, LA has a list of 1890 pensioners and Peter Robinson's name is listed. Another reference was the Civil War soldiers and sailors system at www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/.
My other relative was from Jones Co NC and moved the family to Tensas Parish LA. His name was Sanders Kinsey and was listed in the book as Sanders Kincy. Both sets of records gave a list of their children which confirmed my information, they were my great and great great grandparents.
