Well, just in my opinion, I think its very likely that Zachariah was the son of Graham. I also think it might take a lot of work to determine if he was actually emancipated or not. I would definitely be looking through the probate court minutes for any guardianship records. I think that a lot would depend on the executor and the probate judge. Even if he had been freed, I find it very difficult to trace a single individual.

I actually had some Grahams from that area in my wife's family research. They were in Elmore County which was created from Montgomery, Coosa and Autauga Counties around 1869ish. There are only a tangential family line so they aren't critical to any research I've done. I cannot read those attached image since I no longer subscribe to ancestry.com but I'm sure the same documents can be found on familysearch. I have a Flora (b. 1820) and her daughter Emma (b. 1849).
