Re: slave importation (the acadians, huguenots)

I've been immersed in research on another side of the Family,
That has a reunion coming up soon!

There is a definite that Huguenot/Arcadian/Shawano metis thing going on.

Some of My ancestor's - their various masters who were probably fur traders/slave traders - who were fleeing religious persecution ito relocate in Canada, along the US border & in SC.
They keep showing up as 4th cousin level.
I think they preferred slaves getting slaves from the french west indies ,probably over 1/4 my DNA is Benin Togo region.

I've stopped researching them for now - because a lot of it is in Canada & France.
Some of it involves obscure trading posts in Pa. Ohio,Kentucky & New England.
I do keep them in a database. ( I'm still trying to find out who owned which ancestor of mine)

Email me & I'll share what I have so far on that side. t.b.

Some of the surnames from that side are Adair, Guidry,Benge, Amytrader,
Armitrading, Landry, Salvailles,Salvaye, Chartier , Chevalier, Deconde,Condi/Conti, Seifort, Blackfox, Sizemore, Mckee, Chalakatha,Pelleteir, Buffington, Perry, St.Denis, Larose, Pekowi, Degroat, Guyon, Kingfisher, Lapierre, Cayuga People, Trachsel/Troxell. Some of connections I just chalk up to relationships between slaves /fur trader & indigenous people.
