Nassauvians...and I may be spelling this incorrectly...have many links to Southern Florida and the Caribbean. Perhaps you can find your family name in Caribbean data bases along with English slave ships.

Afrigeneas has links to Caribbean sites. Also check the Mormons lds.org and do a general name search. You may find relatives in other islands or as I mentioned on the mainland of Florida. East Florida has a tremendous archive of records.

The Panton Leslie archives and the Forbes Trading archives may be a good place for you to start. Both were the dominant "merchants" in the Floridas and the Caribbean.

For centuries Afro-Americans criss-crossed the Caribbean. Your family may have been from another island and then migrated to Nassau.
