Re: DASHER black ancestry GA
Although I am not related, as part of a UMass Lowell research project I have done a lot of research on African Americans in Lowell, in Massachusetts, and more, including members of the Dasher Family, GA, MA, England, Canada, and Australia. Most of the information I have gathered is in the AA - Lew Tree:
I have yet to find the direct connection between Amanda and the Dasher family members in the Lew Tree, but I suspect Amanda Dasher is related to Henry Augustus Dasher, Sr. perhaps a Daughter or a Niece. The earliest African American Dasher family members I have found were "Free Negroes" living in Augusta, GA in the 1820s [yes 1820s.] In the a late 1860s, some members of the Dasher Family moved from Augusta, GA and settled in Wilmington, NC.
In the 1850s, Henry Augustus Dasher, 2nd moved to Canada, lived in Massachusetts for a while, and eventually settled in Birkenhead, England. Three wives and many children later, there are now Dasher relatives around the world.
