Re: Slave descendants of the Cabell family

Hi everyone,

I know this forum hasn't been active for a while, but I am a descendent of Big John Massie, and I was wondering if anyone knows any more about him or other native heritage members of the Massie family? I am trying to find out where he was born and grew up and what tribe he/his ancestors belonged to

Thanks for any info you have.

Native American Blood?.... I'd say. Check out the brother of Thomas Massie. His name was John Massie, born in 1807. He was born around the same year as Nathaniel Francis Cabell.

Sukey Diggs, my 4th great grandmother was used for breeding. Her grandson was sent to work as a field laborer for the Massie family. His name was Samuel Diggs, born in 1864.

Just team up with me and finish building our tree, together. I'll send you an invitation. Just use your email address to login. I'll put you down as an editor of the tree. (if, and when you have time).

I think the problem of many individuals trying to build thier family trees, is that, they only concentrate on their particular branch of their families, and discount all other branches, and connections. That strategy, only leads to an incomplete family.... in my opinion.

Yeah, all of those surnames are very familiar.
Anyway Brenda, You are my 4th cousin. We are about the same age.
