Several years ago around the James River Rd area, we stumbled upon White Plains. This is the Loving plantation. We were able to walk all over it and take pictures. We talked to the new owner. And then he took us down to the Loving cemetery that was taken over every conceivable , horrible bush with thorns, broken twigs that scratched us to pieces. We took the movie camera and kept walking through the "wilderness." We walked through all those slave graves that were marked by stakes and no names but when we got to the end we came to a better cemetery with all the caucasian graves which were easier identified because of the names and dates. Sad, that we couldn't do that with the slaves' graves.
