Does anyone have information concerning the Tayloe Plantation in Virginia and Alabama? Was a very large operation, specializing in trades, race horses, farming, etc. It seems as the Civil war spread, slave families were moved further south. My husband's GGrandfather was a slave on the Alabama plantation, probably being moved from Virginia. The plantation was located in the Alabama "Black Belt" ( Dallas,Pickens, Marengo Co. etc.) Anyone know where the Tayloe records maybe archived? Any info, please e-mail!! Any families researching this area of Alabama, look into this plantation, as it was a very large operation in its day. It would be considered a huge corporation by todays standards and certainly worth a look! Thanks! Johanna
