Dear Sirs,I am trying to find out more about the following relatives of mine.Samuel Carter who was a freed slave in the early part of the 19th century and his son Thomas who was my great grand father. Thomas ran away to sea and ended up here in Wales, which is part of the U.K. in the middle of the century.I would like to know anything and everything about the family, such as where they came from in Africa. Samuel's wife and other children and what became of them. I did have a messasge from ExPresident Carter years ago to say that they could have lived on the lands that his family owned in Georgia.Any help would be much appreciatted.Yours etc.John Harrold.
