my former last name is Smith. My grandmother told me that we were decendants of Nat Turner. Her maiden last name was Annie Sugars and great-grandmother's last name was Turner. We've lived in the Tidewater/South Hampton County for as long as I can remember. I'm going to her for more names when I see her. She's 88 years old now, but she has an awesome memory! Would love to hear from other decendants. I've been trying to piece this thing together for years.
