There are 106 reels of microfilm for the Records of the Field Offices for the State of South Carolina, Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, 1865 - 1872. Beaufort is identified as a Subordinate Field Office. There are 90 reels for Georgia.

Low County Africana has digitized 4 reels for SC #89, 103, 76 and 77 ...and 2 for Savannah Georgia reels # 82 & 83, not sure if others have been digitized.

NARA microfilm rolls numbers South Carolina #56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, and 62 contain information about activities of the Bureau in Beaufort (SC) Field Office(there is also the possibility that info about individuals in that area also appear on other rolls).

A variety of information is contained on these various rolls:

List of Destitute Freedmen and Orphan Children to whom Rations were issued
Labor Contracts, Register of Bounty Claims, etc...
