I am of Shaffer's lineage. Frances is listed in the 1850 and 1860 census. There is a tie with the Hite name.
I do not have any death onformation on theis Frances Vaughan.

Oh... So this Frankie Vaughn/Vaughan was born in 1825 also a slave of Massie. I not sure if she was married to Slave "Shaw" of Massie, or just breeded with him, but this Frankie Vaughn had a son named Shafer born in 1851, and he married Sallie Smith born 1863. Shafer had 6 chillins'.

I didn't trace all of Shafer's line yet... But I'll get right on it Mame'... you can count on me.
