Re: Nelson County VA plantations

Sorry, I'm late... as usual, I might add
But I had to make sure all of my "I" s were dotted and "T" s crossed.

So let's analze this list of names in hopes to help other find their realtives.

Belinda wrote in 2007:
Ok,Some of the names would be Coleman Woodson, Henry or William Henry Wood, Fountain Wright, Major Wright, Moses Bowling,Archy Bowling and MAdison Brown. Thanks for your help
----------
First their were 2 of my relatives with the name Coleman Woodson (according to my 94 year old cousin Haywood).

The first one (probably the you're referring to) was Coleman born 1825, married Polly born 1834 (father of Alex Woodson born 1866). What you probably don't know, was this Coleman Woodson was a Jr. -- His father was also Coleman Woodson born 1796 and married Becky, born 1798.
-----------
So let's check out Major Wright, born about 1800. His son was Fountaine Wright born 1844. Fountaine and his wife Cecilla had 3 chillins' that I've been able to locate.
----------------------------------
Now let's see... who else do we have here?... oh... Moses Bowling born born 1835. He and his wife Sallie born 1842 were slaves/farm laborers of John K. Moore

The father of Moses Bowling was Archer Bowling born 1795. - Moses had 8 siblings. He and his wife Sallie had 7 chillins. One of their sons, was also named Archer of "Archy" Bowling born 1863. They "Bowling"s were kinda hard to trace because of the many variations in spelling. Plus, they're often confused with the "Bolden" family lines of Wingina, Nelson, Virginia
--------------------------
Let's see... who elso is listed... umm... Oh!-- Madison Brown. He was born in 1850, married Mary born 1854. They had 3 chillins that I've been able to find. - Didn't list their marriages, yet.
--------------------------
So, let's go back abit... shall we?..
Alex Woodson born 1866 married my great aunt Fannie Venable born 1867. Their children married into the Fleming, Wright, Jones, Horsley, and Wood family lines.
----------------------
The Bowling children also married into the Wright family lines. As well as the Hughes, and Rose family lines.
---------------------------
Well, that's it, for now!-- Hit me up if you need ANY family info on relatives in Nelson County---- feel me?
