There are SAUNDERS listed in the "Book of Negroes, The Halifax List" and on the Canadian Census Reports. As the replies stated, you can find this information on the Nova Scotia Records Management Archives.

You may also want to do a search in the "Ward Chipman Papers". There are a list of Black Loyalists, Black Pioneers and Black Refugees that are listed on the musters and ships, which are in these papers that may not be listed in the mentioned lists above. You can view the original hand written records in these papers.

One of the ships "Argo Transport" which left out of St. Augustine, Florida has the list of the Negroes that are not recorded on the other lists. It took me a long time to find the information which I hope this information helps you and other researchers. I was able to find several of my ancestors in these papers!
