Re: NEED HELP-SC--NAMES
In Response To: Re: NEED HELP-SC--NAMES ()

Now this is really and eye opener. I went to ancestry and could not find this.
How did you do that. Please tell me step, by simplified step. There is so much I don't seem to know about navigaing this ancestry.com

THE TEAGUE name is something I really need to research. This was Adelaides 1st documented surname.

I first searched on familysearch to see what came up and found the 1850 census. I noted the son's name being Patrick Jr. and that PL's wifes name was Martha. I then went to ancestry and searched for Patrick L Calhoun; lived in South Carolina; and unchecked all of the boxes except "Family Trees"--that gave me the list. I was actually checking the trees to see if your VANCE surname came up when I saw the TEAGUE surname and remembered seeing it in your original post. Just from the bit of looking around I did, there ARE Vances in that area during that time. I found some listed in the Rich Family Tree but couldn't figure out how they connect to the Calhoun family. Hope that helps.
