Re: Slave Trader's Names
In Response To: Slave Trader's Names ()

Cynthia,

Might try Birch Slave Pen in Alexandria, Va for starters.

Birch Slave Pen Alexandria Used for 33 years before the Civil War by slave dealers (1828-1861), the building (a National Historic Landmark) at 1315 Duke Stree, Alexandria, VA, is a symbol of America's internal slave trade to the Deep South, and was thus acquired by the Northern VA Urban League for adaptive reuse.

There is a connection to Richmond , VA & a Lewis Robards out of Lexington, KY who was a slave trader.

A couple of other sites that may be of some help

SC Slave Traders

Virginia Slave Trade

These Slave Auctions may have 'traders' listed in their advertisments.
