True African American history, is the TRUE untold story, isn't it.
Our families has been broken up, separated, and dispersed throughout the various slave owning families who were, for the most part, related by marriages. Many, if not most, are actual cousins who married cousins.
This is why it is so important for all of us to trace our ancestry!
Tracing African American is waayyy different from the caucasion, or European history, because our history has been hidden. (on purpose).
Ya wanna know why our history is hidden, and almost impossible to trace? Court houses were burned, records destroyed!
Beccause of our bloodlines, which leads directly back to the slave owners.
This entitles the descendants of African/Mulatto slaves to lay claim to our true inheritance, from all of the wills, and lands, spelled out the the early courts, called "Chancery Records". And yet it was illegal from African Americans to stake any claim, in most cases. Very few of us slipped through the cracks, and recieve a very small portion. For the most part, we still remain, sort of, just visitors to our great nation called "These United States".
We as African Americans refused to believe that we have the ability these days (with our current technology) to actually trace our ancestry directly back to the slaves.
With this kind of proof, that I display here, for all to see, critique, and or dismiss, I would imagine, is very dangerous for me!
Just think about this for a minute. My grandmother Carlie Ann Allen, was born in 1898. Her father Alex, (my great grandfather)was born into slavery. Slavery ended, as you know, in 1865. That's only 3-4 generations back.
