Re: the Marriage of Julius Thompson and Cash
Can I ask, is this information taken from the Freedmen's Bureau marriege register section of Record Group 105. What # number marriage in the register is this?
In order for me to make any sense of this, I spent 3 days, just piecing it together, just so I could understand it.
The marriage couple is one one page, and the slave owner and their remarks are on another, and that was just page 1.
By the time I was finished, I ended up with 18 page in total.
Now according to my page layout system, Julius Thompson appears on page 10.
Also, I believe this William Massie as slave owner, is actually the son of William Massie. His name, which is also listed in my tree is Hope William Massie.
This branch of Thompson's are living on the Massie farm with the Strange, Gaines, Whitlock, Vaughn, and Mead families, who are also kin to my family in Wingina.
