So, let's start with James Edward Tolliver Sr., shall we? You said he maaried Rosie Giles?
I could only find evidence of the marriage with James Edward and Elizabeth Mallie Giles, born in 1888. Unless "Rosie" was her nickname.
This nickname stuff happens more often than I'd like. It really slows down the process, because I'll usually have to stop, to try and find other instances, and variations of the name.

So James Edwards parents were Washington Tolliver, and Mary Jane. They stem from Nelson York, Virginia. Washington was born in 1846. They had 12 chillin's.
And DAT's who far I've gotten, on the Tolliver line, so far.
