Re: Slave descendants of the Cabell family

So you decided to consult an expert?... namely me>,,, who just happend to be your cousin?... just kidding , on the expert statement.

Annnyway. Let's see who we have here:
Ummm, let's start with Cammille, shall we?

But be forwarned!... it's going to be a long thread.
---------------------------------------
Yeah, those "Napier's" were hard to trace, because they are often confused with the "Napper" family. I was able to distinguish between the two, from a book of burial records, given to me by the Nelson County Library, and historical society, I'm sort of becoming a regular, there.

So, Cammille, daughter of Massie Napier, and Ardelia Coleman, is my 3rd cousin 1x removed.

And Cammille married John Oakley Morse, who is my 2nd cousin 2x removed.

John Oakley, was the son of Archie J. Morse, and Emma Page.

His parents were Robert W. Morse, and Sophia Burton.

Robert W. Morse is my 1st cousin 3x removed.

Incidentally, Robby's son Andrew Morse, brother of John Oakley, married Sallie Jane Hudson. Andrew, and Sallie's son Douglas Morse, married Ophelia Venable ( my 1st cousin 2x removed).

You know, I really just need to add you to the tree, by sending you and invitation to Ancestry. com. I'll need you email address, though.
-------------------------------------------

So, where was I? .. Oh!
I didn't get to James Tolliver, yet. So be patient, and I'll check him out, when I get a chance. This is just a hobby of mine, at the moment, unless other people viewing this post, want me to help them trace their ancestors, for a fee, of course, (hint-hint)

I have the "Giles" family line in the tree, but I haven't finished with all of the marriages, yet. My goal is to build up to this generation that are all on Facebook, so they too can learn their family history. In fact, that is what my DVD is all about! (hint-hint)

You mentioned our family aquiring alot of land? Don't you mean, entire mountains? lol
------------------------------------------
Yeah, Bennett C. Coleman, my 3rd cousin 1x removed, married Elena Morse. Elena's first husband was Joseph Daniel Gaines.

Remember in an earlier post, I mentioned the Massie family, also owning the "Gaines" family? Well, the Massies's is where you'll find your "Native American" heritage.

Elena's parents were Sidney Morse, and Mary Lee Ross.

Now, Sidney's parents were Barbour Marvel Morse, and Sophia Morse. Sidney's Parents were slaves. They were Lewis Morse, born 1812, and Harriet Morse, born in 1818.

Now, this is were the technique used by slave owners, to keep "slavery" profitable, comes into play. Lewis and Harriet Morse, had alot of kids, but this page isn't long enough to list all of the details.

You know, I really need to do this for a living. For some strange reason, genealogy comes easy for me.

Speaking of "strange". The "Strange" family are also kin to us.

Well, that's it for now cuz! I have tons more information, including photos, and burial locations of many of our ancestors, including many slaves from various branches of our family.
... just hit me up!... ah-ight?

... "I yield back my time", as the US Congress members would say. ...lol
