Hi - this should be the same Adolphus who was eventually killed because of his newspaper. My father's cousin, Americus Neeley Griggs was born about that time and his middle name for Adolphus. My father's name was William "Willie C" Griggs. His grandfather, Lev(co) Griggs was born in 1860 and was living in Colt, St. Francis County during that time, and in Griggs and Johnson Townships. Unfortunately, one of the census records is misplaced on the microfilm in the middle of Telico County. No one has ever corrected it. The Griggs name at that time was spelled Craigs, then Greggs, once as Griggis. Dad's grandfather also had 9 brothers and their parents were born in MO (Dad) and TN (Mom).
