You know, I do appreciate the humbleness of these celebrities to not only delve into their own family history, but to do it in front of millions and not be ashamed of their family, immediate or distance families, those ancestors who were involved in heinous (sp?) moments in history. It was great to watch Lisa Kudrow and her demeanor, also Sarah Jessica Parker, when so many celebrities have their families and family informalities in the background away from the public eye. But then again, in today's world, we like the underdog story and the "my family was involved in the most hauntiess of events, but Look At Me Now!" We like the drama, it shows in based on true story movies and tv bio pics. And it's great to see real, true emotions, though it may be overdone for whatever reason, but it's genuine nonetheless. Emmit's no actor so that's why we didn't see overReacting (instead of saying overActing), and there was no complaint for Lisa Kudrow. It would be boring just to wach them research celeb's genealogy, so it's great that they focus on a certain part of an ancestor's life connected to certain events in history. It would be great if they tackled a Caucasian celeb's slaveowning ancestor who say owned ancestors of a black celeb, and show the healing process between the two celebs and no hard feelings. That would be something, I hope they don't shy away from the issue of slavery especially involving white celebrity's ancestors owning a certain black person/family's ancestors. I would like to see that.... Messages In This Thread
