I was curious about what happened to the town of Wiley, OK. I am having a very hard time even seeing why the city was absorbed by neighboring towns which apparently is what must have occured. The only map of Johnston COunty on the Wikipedia site on JOhnston COunty, OK shows a 1909 map which clearly shows the town of Wiley above right of Tishamonga, OK, but I cannot find another map with the town listed; only the Cemetary off of E. Cheadle Rd. Has anyone had any luck? It bothers me that an historic town can just disappear without a trace. I love Gates' PBS series and I wish he had elaborated more on this town.
