You made a relevant point. I happened to see a segment of the Tony Brown Journal about 4 months ago, and the speaker was expressing that the slave owners used a different bible to read to slaves (as slaves supposedly were not allowed to read), which they referred to as the "Nigga Bible". This supposedly was very instrumental in taming the slaves, i.e. you will get your rewards when you die!!
