I now have a list of the Butler slaves who were not sold in the 1859 auction. There are about 479 names on the list. I also have the list of 400+ slaves that were sold from the Butler plantations.

I was able to track some of the families (sold and not sold) through the censuses and now have last names to go by.

Most of the slaves that were not sold eventually moved to Darien, GA.
