Thanks for sharing. Like your and my oral history, I believe there are many more folk who can share their own personal family stories, which sort of attests to the fact that slave-breeding in the South was definitely a reality. It's not that these slave-breeding stories are those many "want to believe". It happened. Plain and simple.

I believe there are indeed slave narratives where persons relay that they were forced into "marriage" (mating) with another by their enslaver, obviously for the purposes of producing offspring...increasing their enslaver's wealth. To me, that's forced breeding as well.
