MY Great Great Great Grunma, Philis Robinson (Robertson) Dillard (born about 1835), was enslaved by Dr Richard Dillard of Wingfield Plantation of Edenton Chowan County, NC. I was told by my Aunt (97), that she was Dr. Dillard's cook & she was emancipated & sent to Suffolk, Va prior to the Civil War. I have verified information from the Census about her & my Great Great Great Grunpa, Willis Dillard, (born about 1823) regarding them & their children which has been common family knowledge.
