Autumn,
I see none of those names in the book. But I want to ask you, have you found any of these names in the Census prior to 1870? Some of the surnames you give, in particular, STEWART and BYRD, were generally always free, or at least for a very long time in U.S. history and won't be found in these Emancipation records. If yours are among those that were free prior to 1870, then chances are good that they were among those families that came out of Virginia during Colonial times. Paul Heinegg has done extensive work on these families, and if you haven't done so, I would suggest that you take a look at his website for some history on some of these free families. Also, have you checked out the Free People of Color Forum here at Afrigeneas? Paul is one of the Forum Managers there, where there is a link to his website, and you might want to post a message on that Forum about your family, giving more details about dates, times and locations, along with the names.
If your family was only found after the 1870 census, they also won't be in this book because the book only covers people who were freed prior to the end of slavery.
