Re: Eaton Plantation descendants NC

Allen,
Ooops i responded to your other message before I read this one so you might want to just disregard my other message. YEs, Yes, This is the same family the Eaton Family. This will be a big project for me because I cannot seem to find the name of ROberts parents I do know that he was born abt 1828 so I subtracted 1828 from the dates on the slave schedule that you sent me. In 1860 Robert would of been about 32 years old and 1850 he would of been around 22 years of age so finding Roberts parents might not help since he was an adult during the times of these slave schedules. Question, how did you get these slave schedules and I did not see any of William Eatons daughters slave schedule when I read the will it appeared to me that some of his daughters received slaves also. This will be a big challenge for me but I am up to it. Thanks for the advice if you can think of anything else that would help let me know. Its really a bummer that the slave schedules don't list slaves by names! That would help me a great deal. I have to rely on clues. One clue that I know is that my entire family of descendants and ancestors came exclusively from Henderson NC we still may have some relatives still there so I am particullary interested in the 1850 slave schedule I would like to study it more. Can you send me the slave schedules or direct me to the correct place.
Thanks a bunch! Lets stay in touch
P.S. Why was the graveyard not preserved as a historical site. Is there something built on top of it. I am sorry to learn that it is not there anymore.
P.S.S>. WHo were your ancestors that you found?
