I am looking for the following people -- after Emancipation, they lived in either Caswell or Alamance counties. I would appreciate it if you would check for their names. Some were free, others were slaves.
Thanks,
Kberry in PA
BEDFORD (ENOCH), slave of JOHN S ENOCHS, Caswell Co.
WILLEY (female), slave of either John or NANCY ENOCHS/ENOCKS; mother? of BEDFORD
BIG BEDFORD, slave of either HUGH WALKER, NANCY (WALKER) ENOCHS/ENOCKS, or John Enochs; father? of BEDFORD
TENER (female, maiden name and slave owner unknown)
HARRIET LONG, wife of WILLIAM? LONG of Caswell Co., slave owner unknown; there is a white WILLIAM LONG who owned numerous slaves in Caswell; and an African American William Long was a free man of color married to LUCY TONEY, whose parents were freedmen too (NANCY & JOHN TONEY)
NATHANIEL LONG, MARTHA LONG, ALEXANDER LONG, slaves, possibly the children of Harriet
LUCRETIA/CREASY, maiden name and slave owner unknown, she married Nathaniel Long; I have a marriage record for a LUCRETIA CARTER marrying NATHANIEL LONG in 1871 in Caswell.
ROBERT EVANS, possibly Lucretia's father.
