BROWN Slave owners Wilcox Cnty GA

Though, I have already posted this initial information
on the Surname Forum I shall repeat the 1870 Federal
census for District 433 G.M. , Wilcox county, GA:

Honer Brown age 66 White Female b: GA keeping house
James Fitzgerald age 16 White Male b: GA farm laborer
Abner Brown age 30 Black Male b: GA farm laborer
Julian Brown age 25 Black Female b: GA keeping house
Mauda (sp) age 6 Black Female b: GA
Nancy Brown age 2 Black Female b: GA
Thomas Brown age 19 Black Male b: GA farm laborer
Peter Brown age 17 Black Female b: GA farm laborer
Ned Brown age 20 Black Male b: GA farm laborer
George Hollingworth age 21 Black Male b: GA farm laborer
Handy Brown age 60 Black Male b: GA domestic servant

In the above census, my GGG-Grandparents, Abner and Julia Brown and two children
are listed in the household of Honer Brown, a White Female
age 66. Honer Brown's husband, Samuel Brown may have owned
my ancestors Abner and Julian Brown. The Slave owner, Samuel Brown
was born 1799 in North Carolina and died May 1870 in Wilcox county,
Georgia. Samuel's wife, Honor Miller was born in 1804 in Georgia
and died April 6 in Wilcox, Georgia. The 1860 US federal census for
Wilcox county, GA listed Samuel and Honer Brown and children. The
1850 and 1830 US federal census for Irvin county, GA, list Samuel
Brown and family. Also Samuel Brown has a list of slaves in the 1860
and 1850 Slave schedule.
One of Samuel and Honer Brown's son Abner W. Brown
was born on February 26, 1826 in Georgia. He married Mary Willcox,
the daughter of James Lea Willcox and Elizabeth Driskel McDuffie.
During the Civil War, Abner W Brown was a member of Company E enlisting as a private
March 4, 1862. He died of brain fever at Wilmington, NC on April 10, 1862 at the age of 36. He was brought back to Wilcox county and buried
at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. (Per: National Archives
Microfilm Box, Roll, and Record: 000226, 0008, 00000741.
The slave owners, Samuel Brown's parents are Phillip Brown and
Sarah Brittian. Phillip Brown was born 1762 in Mecklenburg, NC and
died 1855 in Irwin, GA. Sarah Brittian died 1825 in Irwin, GA.
Phillip Brown is the son of Fredrick Brown ( a Revolutionary
martyr). Fredrick Brown was a private in the patriot army and was killed in action at the Battle of Kings Mountain, NC. This is
the battle credited with turning the fortune of the American
Revolutionary struggle into success. The heirs of said Fredrick
Brown were granted 740 acres of bounty land by the State of NC
for his services.
At this point of the researching of the probable slave owners,
I need to find additional information on the slaves that they
helded to better confirm my ancestors slave owners.
I have the Will of Philip Brown but no information noted to be
of any help. I am still searching for the Will of Samuel Brown
died 1870.
If you are researching this family and or have any information or
advice about them a reply is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Allen
