After growing up in Maryland, I joined the US Air Force in 1968 and for 30 years made the military my life. I traveled around the world and basically lost physical contact with my family. Letters and phone calls were all that connected us.

I achieved the highest enlisted rank of Command Chief Master Sergeant, with my duties being in law enforcement and security. My last assignment before I retired in 1998 was the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force Academy.

My wife, Nicole and I have been married 36 years (almost unheard of nowadays), with two grown daughters and two young grandsons. I am a prominent business manager for an International private security company. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and am still connected to my family in Maryland by phone calls and emails. We are and always have been a very close family.

My sister, Gloria McGhee, sent me the historical data on Adam Francis Plummer several years ago and I did not realize after all those years I was the descendant of such great ancestory. I remember the days at St Paul Baptist Church when my brothers (Rudolph and James) and I sang in the choir or at special events, while cousin Jerome (Reverend L. Jerome Fowler) played the organ for us. Mom, Claudia Davis(now deceased), was a leader in the church choir, and Dad, Nicholas Saunders Plummer Davis, Sr., was a Deacon.

Those were proud and happy moments in my life that I will always remember. You don't know the joy in knowing my life is a part of Black History. Thanks for bringing this out.
