My g g grandfather was suppose to be owned by the Jordan family, I don't see him on this list.
That is why I 'm almost sure that this list must be incomplete or else the Jordan's may not have owned BENJAMIN CLARK.
When I went to the 1860 slave census in Rappahannock, I did see a MALE slave that was the age of my Benjamin, it is only a guess however.
The FLETCHER family and the JORDAN family lived very close to each other.
One reason that I love to research in the Little Washington area of Rappahannock is that all the African American FAMILIES there from the 1870-1880 Census are my cousins! Everyone married someone else from "up the road."
There are also Black and White FLETCHERS/CLARKS/JORDANS etc.
It's nice. When we had our 1st reunion there last year, I couldn't believe it! Everybody looked like my grandmother CLARK!
The List gives the DATE of ENTRY(or the date that the owners file/recorded the names with the County) those dates were 1862 - 1866.
