Well, I'm one "white" person that has mixed ancestors and I strive to uncover the mysteries of their lineage as much as I do the lilly white ones. I post every piece of genealogical information I come across......that's the key: for everybody to post information and then it's up to the receiver to verify it, but at least you have something to look at.
I'm sure some "white" people don't know that they have black ancestors (and vice versa some "black" people don't know they have white ancestors) and DO NOT WANT TO KNOW but in my opinion they are not genuinely interested in their genealogy.
As a researcher if all you're interested in is tying your line to some line of rich or famous folks, well, you're more than likely in for a heartbreak.
Worth, royal lineage or color of skin has nothing to do with it. If somebody is related to me, even distantly, I want to know who you are and I look for you everyday.
Keep the faith, folks, there's lots to uncover out there!
