My opinion is that your ancestors would be proud of you for the work you have done. I am doing my research for myself and for my ancestors. When I spend hours and hours researching only to hit a brick wall, I think about how much harder my ancestors trials and tribulations were. I feel that my ancestors stories should be told and what interesting stories they have. Overall, my family is not too excited about my research but some become interested when I present the material. I try my best to pass the history on to family members. Whether they care or not - I don't care - it is still part of my responsibility to pass on the information so it can be passed down to future generations.
Your ancestors are proud!
