Re: Gillette, James Napolean - seek descendants

Yes, I have, Denise. We found a "death notice" in the Chicago Defender, but that gave no survivors' names.
I also have his son's death certificate for which the son's widow was the informant. She is also deceased now, but too recent for me to get her death cert when I tried.
My cousin called the funeral home listed on the son's death cert and eventually spoke to someone who had handled funeral arrangements for the son's wife, but that didn't get us any more information, since she had not known the sister (my cousin with the 4 children.)
I recently found my uncle in the 1923? Little Rock city directory, the first sighting I have of him between WWI registration and his death cert. I have not found the family in the 1920 or 1930 census. According to the son's SS-5, he was born in Pulaski County (LR is county seat) in 1921.
And Gillette in Illinois is way more common than I would have thought. :-(
