There are a zillion and 10 HARRIS families everywhere you look. Start with yourself. Document your parents. Then document your grandparents. Then your great-grandparents....research.

Of course you can find a HARRIS crest. You can find a "crest" for almost any family name on the internet (as well as someone who will separate you from $100 for a color glossy framed copy, and readily make one up for you) Do you have any CLAIM to the crest? Not likely, and if so,you will have meticulous research to verify it.

"Crests" etc care fun to look at, but mostly "belonged" to a few families who have proudly kept the tradion. Even then I believe the "right" to it only passed to the oldest son.

Concentrate on your research. Have you located grandparents & great grandparents in census records?
