Re: mcPhail, Bostic, Smith
In Response To: Re: mcPhail ()
I wanted to let you know that my Aunt and I reviewed all of the information that you gave me and was very surprised and pleased that you were able to gather so much accurate information. There were some spelling inaccuracies but we know that much of this is due in part to transcriptions from very old records. We applaud and appreciate all of your hard work.
We are wondering now how do we get family information for years older than the 1870's? Would we need to write for special records etc? The information was very accurate for the McPhail and the Smith lineages. Would you have information on the Smith line older than the 1900's? My grandfather Willie W. Smith was born June 16, 1907 or 1909 and died April 21, 1992. It appears that Hays Smith b.1877 was a stepson to Ben King and may have had the last name of Jackson according to my aunt. We are curious as to where the Smith name came from. Was Ella King's maiden name Smith?
Now for the Bostics. Henrietta Bostic was born circa 1880-1893. Her parents were Matilda Brown Bostic and George Bostic. She came from a large family: Eliza, Fannie, Carrie, Rozena, Betsy, Mary , Nancy, Gus, mannie, John Henry, and Ben Bostic were her siblings. She died Dec. 28, 1981 in New Jersey. I was fortunate enough to have met her as a young girl since she lived near my aunt in New Jersey. What information would you have to on the Bostic lineage?
Back to Anson Cornelius McPhail. He was born September 15 1887 to Easter and Wesley McPhail. He died September 3, 1955. It also appears that he had 8 siblings: Abraham, Pressley, Sandy, Eliza, Pearl, Belva Derra, Godly and Dubie McPhail. Is there any information on this line and who are Wesley's parents? IS he the Wesley that appears to be the stepson as shown in the 1880 census?
Thanks so much for all of your help
