Re: David Prince Darlington SC
In Response To: David Prince Darlington SC ()
I don't if you have done this or not but I took a look at the 1870 census and tried to find David and Margaret Pool. I could not find them. However, I did find Grant Ezekiel in 1870 in Darlingon County. In 1870, Grant is living with a Edmund Ezekiel and a Cynthia Ezekiel who appears to be his father and mother. There is one other child listed with Ezekiel and Cynthia and her name is Mary.
Now very next door to Edmund Ezekiel is a Albert Prince age 40 and his wife Charlotte. They have 6 children and they are Fleming, Letitia, Augustus, Martin, Andrew, and Whittemore. Now when we jump back to 1880 and examine who is living around David Pool, we see that there is a Alfred (I believe this is the Albert Prince from 1870) Prince and his wife Charlote with children Flemming, A J, Martin, Whittemore, Alice age 8, Ellen age 6 and Frances age 4.
Now again in 1870, you have Grant Ezekiel and his family living next to Alfred/Albert Prine's family. Now in 1880, you have Grant and a Clarence Prince living with David Pool, there grandfather. A few doors down form David Pool is Albert/Alfred Prince and his family. What is odd to me though is that the census taker originally wrote in David Prince and then stratched it out and wrote in Clarence Prince.
So, it could be that Albert/Alfred and Charlotte are the father and mother of David Prince or it could be that one of David Pool's daughters married a man with the last name Prince and gave birth to David. I try to find a marriage record of a female Pool and a male Prince in the court records of Darlington County.
I don't know if this helps any but its something to think about.
