1900 U.S. Federal Population Census for Texas, Anderson County [Justice Precinct 5, ED 14)
Looks like they were enumerated twice.
Per the Texas Death Index,
2) A Mack Baston died Nov 6, 1956 (#56529)
Other Anderson county Bastons in the Index:
Based on the information for John Baston, I looked at the 1870 Census for an Eliza Morgan (she was, 'reportedly', married 40 years in 1910). Perhaps she married later in the year (after the Census was taken)? Found the following possibility.
An Andrew Morgan (b. Va) and Lilla (b. AL) were listed with their seven children, including an "Eliza" (14), the second oldest and first to be born in Texas. IF this is the Eliza that married Marion, she would have been VERY young. Of course, ages varied by 5 years or more back then.
