I have checked the census report and it gives me two diffrent dates of birth for my gg father.. Thomas Hawley. One said Sept 1847. The other one gives 1851. This information came from the 1900 census report for Granvillle county, Walnut Groove township NC. Where he is listed as being born in 1847 mullato male. the other report is from 1910 same township. where he is listed as being born in 1851. How can I determine which is correct. I have not been able to get a birth certificate for him.
