Re: PETERKIN, Gray of SC?
In Response To: Re: PETERKIN, Gray of SC? ()
Thanks for your response. I am doing a Family History Research on Gray Peterkin and his descendants. In my rearch, I have seen Thomas & Annie Jane Peterkin in the Federal Census. Our family is from Blenhiem as well. Matter of fact, I was up in Bennettsville in May for my mother's 1st Cousin Evelyn Peterkin Williams's funeral and after the funeral Evelyn's brother Eugene Furman Peterkin took some of the family over to Pee Dee Baptist Church to veiw the graveyard there. We are related as Peterkins but I really want to know how. Gray Peterkin was on the 1st Deacon Board at Pee Dee Baptist Church. Gray & Loretta Peterkin had about 11 children and my great-grandfather Furman Peterkin born abt 1872 was the oldest children. Furman married abt. 1890 to my great-grandmother Adeline and they had 7 children and their son which was the baby of the family was my grandfather Zannie Peterkin born 1909 and died in 1977 in Philadelphia. I am looking to find out who was Gray Peterkin's parents. Do you live in South Carolina? And if so, how far are you from Columbia, South Carolina? And if you live near Blenhiem, could you get me a list of Peterkins buried at Pee Dee Baptist or any other surrounding churches? I wish you could come and be with us in our family reunion in Philadelphia, PA September 2 & 3. If you would like to tell on the phone, I would be glad to talk with you about the Peterkin Heritage. My cell # is : 205-837-2235. Look to hear from you soon. And it is a pleasure to meet you.
