Seeing that Randall Reed was born in 1826, his parents would not be listed in the census, unless they were free persons of color.

Unless someone as already done research on your family, one of the only ways to determine who his parents would be would be to find out who the white family was that held him in slavery and then try and find him in court documents concering that family.
