There were 6 Blanchard households in MS by 1840.....Absalom was then in Lawrence CO By 1850 he is in Monroe County and his son William has numerous slaves. by 1870, only 2 of the approx 150 Blanchards are listed with a Carolina birthplace: Jordon Blanchard Township 15, Monroe, MS abt 1840 North Carolina Colored Male
Most are listed as born in MS, with a few from Maryland & Alabama Most of northern MS was not occupied by plantation agriculture until after the treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek in 1830, removing the majority of the Choctaws.
