Re: Continue of Sarah and Laura/Willis KING
In Response To: Continue of Sarah and Laura/Willis KING ()
Hi I looked also at Laura and Willis in 1900. He for sure matches the Willis of 1880. However, the Willis King of 1900 is in Precinct 8 instead of Precent 6 and the Laura King of 1900 is in the town of Holts in Smith county instead of Precint 8. Now what is interesting about Laura in 1900 is that she is living with a Ruben/Rubin Wright and his wife, Harriet. Laura is listed as his sister and she is listed as widowed. So, it would appear that this is your Laura because according to ancestry.com, there is a marriage record where Laura is listed as a Wright when she married Wills>> Texas Marriage Collection, 1814-1909 and 1966-2002 Record
So it would it would appear to me that for some strange reason, Laura and Willis chose to list themselves as being widowed in 1900. It maybe that they divorced. There must be a logical reason for them doing that. Tony
