Anyone that has MATHEWS relatives still living in Port Royal, Caroline Co. Virginia has to be related to me!

There are at least 25 MATHEWS names listed as Colored in the 1870 Census for Port Royal.

My g grandmother was BETTIE MATHEWS and her sister was ELIZABETH B. MATTHEWS. Their mother was SUSAN and "James" is the only name I have for a father. Susan and her two daughters moved to Baltimore in the late 1800's.

Eliza married a LYNCH from Lynchburg VA and BETTIE married Samuel MANNS from Ann Arundel MD.

There must be some MATHEWS cousins on this Board!
