I find this search increasingly more interesting because my aunt, Mary Ella Phillips McGhee, lived in or near Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., Tennessee before moving to Cleveland, Ohio!

Aunt Mary Ella was born in 1914 and died in Cleveland in 1964.
Her marriage to her Jesse McGhee in Cleveland ended in divorce.

As for the spelling of McGhee/McGee, I'll have to check with my mother to find out which spelling Aunt Mary Ella used. I always assumed that it was spelled with an "h", but nothing in genealogy can be assumed! :-)
