I have been researching my great great grandmother Mary Ann Pugh in Forsyth County, Georgia.
It appears my great great grandmother had a total of eight children. In 1870 she had four children, in 1880 she had a total of six, in 1900
she indicated that she had four--two of them were in the 1880 census and then she had two more children between 1885 and 1900. I have not been able to find any of the four children that I located in the 1870 census. It's as if they completely disappeared. I noticed in the 1920 census, my great great grandmother indicated she only had four children and only four children were living and at this time she was married to her second husband.
I hope this isn't too confusing. Could anyone help me make sense of this or help me explore what could have happened?
