Re: Lacy/Lacey In Tx ?
In Response To: Lacy/Lacey In Tx ? ()
Gwen, I did a search of the 1900 US Census, Texas, Harrison County, for everyone with the surname LAC* (includes Lacy, Lacey, Lacoste, etc.), and I don't see a Manora, Nora or anything even close. There are two Marys, but neither was born about your time frame. When I searched the entire state for Manora, no matches, and a search for Nora yielded six results, five of them white, the only black one born about 1869, far earlier than yours. Then I did a search for Man* Lac* (using two wild-card characters) and got nothing similar to Manora. A search for Min* Lac*, similar results, nothing really close. Even tried a search for Mun* Lac*, no results. I'm sorry, but I don't see her in the 1900 census. Also tried the 1910 US Census (TX), similar results. Really sorry, my dear. All the best in your search. - Lisa B. Lee, PLCGS
